The product
What is HireSalt?
HireSalt is AI resume screening software: it scores each resume against criteria you set, explains every score, and ranks candidates for you to review. You paste a job description, HireSalt drafts weighted scoring criteria you can edit, and every resume for that job is scored against the same criteria.
Is HireSalt an applicant tracking system (ATS)?
No. HireSalt is not an ATS replacement. It screens and ranks the resumes for a role. It is also not a sourcing tool, a background-check service or a skills assessment.
How does HireSalt score resumes?
Each resume is scored against the job's criteria across 7 categories and 33 sub-criteria; 5 categories carry weight by default. Every sub-criterion score comes with a short written note, and each candidate gets an overall score from 0 to 100. Weights lock once the first candidate is scored, so every resume is held to the same standard.
Does HireSalt reject candidates automatically?
No. HireSalt can tag and shortlist candidates against your threshold, but candidates below it stay on the job until you act on them. Scores are advisory and are not meant to be the only basis for accepting or rejecting anyone.
Which resume file formats work?
PDF and DOCX, uploaded one at a time or in bulk. Plain-text files are not accepted. If HireSalt cannot read a file, for example a scanned image with no text, the file is marked Failed and its credit is returned.
How is HireSalt different from asking ChatGPT?
A chat window does not hold your criteria fixed from one resume to the next or keep its reasoning where you can find it later. In HireSalt the criteria and weights are set per job and locked once scoring starts, every sub-criterion score has a written note, and you can preview a different weighting and see the ranking reorder from the stored scores.
Pricing and billing
How much does HireSalt cost in India?
Credit packs are one-off purchases: Starter ₹3,999 for 250 resumes, Growth ₹7,499 for 500 resumes, Agency ₹12,999 for 1,000 resumes. The yearly plans are Scale ₹39,990 and Enterprise ₹49,990 per year, each with unlimited resume scoring and unlimited team seats. One credit scores one resume.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New accounts get 50 free credits, enough to score 50 resumes, with no card needed.
What is a credit?
One credit scores one resume. Uploading the exact same file twice is skipped with no charge, and a file HireSalt cannot read has its credit returned. While a yearly plan is active, scoring does not use credits.
Do credits expire?
No. Purchased credits never expire and stay in your account until you use them. Credits cannot be transferred between accounts.
Can I get a refund?
Unused credits from a pack may be refunded if you ask within 7 days of purchase; credits already used for screening are not refundable. A yearly plan gets a full refund if you ask within 7 days of the first yearly payment and no resumes have been screened since it started. Renewal charges are not refundable.
Can I cancel a yearly plan?
Yes, from the Credits page. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and your access continues until the end of the year you have paid for.
How do team seats work?
The yearly plans include unlimited team seats. Without a plan, a team can have up to 50 seats, counting pending invitations. Team members can score from the owner's credit balance through credit pooling.
How do I pay, and who do I ask about billing?
Payments are processed by Razorpay, with prices in INR. For billing questions or a refund, email hello@hiresalt.com from the email address on your account, with the payment ID or the date of the payment.
Data and privacy
Where is candidate data stored, and is it used to train AI?
The HireSalt app, database, uploaded files and AI gateway are hosted by Railway in the United States. Before resume text goes to an AI provider, the email addresses and phone numbers HireSalt's filter detects are removed. Resumes and job descriptions are not used to train AI models.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Delete Account on the Settings page removes your account and the jobs you own, with their resumes, files, scores, notes and shared report links. Payment records are kept for the period Indian tax law requires.
