Bulk Actions
Last updated
The bulk action bar lets you act on several candidates at once without opening each profile individually. It appears automatically at the bottom of the screen whenever you check one or more candidate rows in the Candidates tab.
Selecting Candidates
Check the checkbox on any candidate row to add that candidate to your selection. A count badge in the bulk action bar updates as you check or uncheck rows. In grid view, checkboxes appear on each candidate card — selecting candidates works the same way whether you are viewing page 1, page 2, or a filtered subset. Use the Select All checkbox in the list header to select every currently visible candidate at once.
To clear your selection at any time, press Escape or click the × button on the left side of the bar.
Actions in the Bulk Bar
Shortlist
Click Shortlist in the bar to star all selected candidates in one step. Candidates already shortlisted are skipped — the action is additive only. After the operation completes, each affected row updates its shortlist indicator without a page reload.
Send Email
Click Email to open the bulk email composer. HireSalt pre-fills recipient addresses from each candidate's parsed contact details. Select an email template, preview the message, then send to all recipients at once. Candidates without a detected email address are listed separately so you can decide how to handle them before sending.
Export to CSV
Click Export CSV to download a spreadsheet containing the score, grade, triage status, and key metadata for every selected candidate. The file downloads immediately for selections under 200 candidates.
Quick Shortlist: Top 5 and Top 10
The Progress section on the job overview page includes two shortcut chips — Shortlist Top 5 and Shortlist Top 10 — that let you star your highest-scoring unshortlisted candidates without opening the Candidates tab at all. HireSalt ranks candidates by score descending and processes from the top down, skipping anyone already starred. A brief confirmation message shows how many candidates were shortlisted.
