Shortlist Check: Weights and Who Moves
Last updated
The weights check on the Shortlist check tab answers one question: "Does my shortlist depend on the exact weights I picked?" It replaced the Scoring Health tab. Old links to Scoring Health open the Shortlist check tab.
Who Would Cross Your Line
The check moves each weight up to 10 points up and down and names anyone who would come above your line with that small change. If nobody moves, the check shows a check mark. If someone does, your list depends on the exact weights, and those candidates are worth a manual look before you shortlist.
It does not show that the ranking is correct. It shows whether a small change in emphasis would change who goes forward.
Adjust Weights
Adjust weights opens a table with one row per scoring category:
- Weight — a slider for the category's weight. The ranking, the chart and your line update as you drag. The weights total is shown above the table.
- Spread — a box plot of the pool's scores on that category: the box is the middle half of candidates, the line inside it is the median, and the dashed line is your line.
- Separates? — Yes, A little or No, from how spread out the pool's scores are on that category. A category where most candidates score about the same does little to separate strong from weak, so giving it more weight changes little.
- Below line and Avg — the share of candidates scoring below your line on that category, and the pool's average.
Who moved lists candidates whose rank changes under the weights you are trying and marks anyone who crosses your line. Reset puts the job's saved weights back.
Compare With a Benchmark
Compare with picks an industry preset. Its weight for each category appears as a mark on the slider, so you can see where your weights differ from it. Choosing a benchmark does not change your weights.
Save as Preset
Save as preset stores the weights you are trying, with your line, as a named preset. Your presets are listed in Settings.
Apply New Weights
Open Scoring Setup opens the job's Scoring Setup tab. Trying weights on the Shortlist check tab never changes the job's saved weights. Those lock once the first candidate is scored; to change them after that, reset the criteria (scores are deleted) or duplicate the job.
Adjusting weights and saving presets are on the Growth plan and above. On other plans the check still names anyone who would cross your line.
