Shortlist Check Tab: Your Line, the Checks and the Audit Log
Last updated
The Shortlist check tab on every job page answers one question before you send interview invites: "Who goes forward, and is anything about this ranking worth a second look?" It replaced the Scoring Health and Threshold check tabs. Old links to either tab open it.
The tab never re-scores anyone. Everything on it works from the scores already stored for the job.
Draw Your Line
The top card asks How many do you want to interview? Use the minus and plus buttons to pick a number, or set a score instead (for example, 72 or more). The bar chart shows the pool in three shades:
- Going forward — at or above your line.
- Just missed — within 5 points below your line. These are worth a manual look.
- Below — everyone else.
When there is a clear gap in scores near your line, the tab points it out and offers to draw the line there. The line you set applies to this job only.
Under the chart, Going forward and Just missed list the candidates by name. See all ranked opens the full ranking with your line drawn through it.
Shortlist These Candidates
Shortlist these N marks everyone above your line as shortlisted on the Candidates tab and records the decision. Undo reverses it: candidates this decision shortlisted go back, and anyone you had shortlisted before stays shortlisted. History lists past decisions for the job, who made them and whether they were undone.
The Four Checks
Each check is one sentence that names who to look at. A check mark means there is nothing to review; an exclamation mark means it is worth a look. Open a check for the detail behind it.
- Failed resumes. A resume whose scoring stopped part way is not in the ranking. Retry scores it again and uses 1 credit.
- Scores too close to call. Candidates less than 3 points apart across your line can swap places if the same resumes are scored again. Interview both, or use Compare side by side to settle it.
- Weights. Names anyone who would cross your line with a small weight change. See Shortlist check: weights and who moves.
- One criterion holding someone back. Names a candidate below your line who is out mainly because of one criterion. The detail shows, for each criterion, the share of candidates scoring below your line on it. If one criterion holds back most of the pool, check that the job description asks for it on purpose.
The Audit Log Export
The Download audit log (CSV) link at the bottom of the tab exports the scoring log for the job. The file has one row per logged scoring event, newest first, with these columns:
timestamp— when the event was logged.resume_id— HireSalt's internal ID for the resume.candidate_name— the candidate's name as read from the resume, when one was found. The file contains personal data, so store and share it with care.model— the model label recorded at scoring time. It names the scoring setup, not an exact model version.provider— the provider recorded for the event.criteria_snapshot_hash— the first 16 characters of a SHA-256 hash of the job's criteria settings at scoring time. Rows with the same value were scored against the same settings.input_fingerprint— a SHA-256 hash of the resume's file name, the job ID and the upload time. It identifies the upload; it is not a hash of the resume's contents.
The file does not include scores, resume text or the reasoning behind each score.
Plans
The line, the shortlist action and checks 1, 2 and 4 are on every plan. Adjusting weights, saving weight presets and the audit log download are on the Growth plan and above.
Print / Save as PDF prints the tab on its own, with collapsed lists opened.
