Reading the Analytics Dashboard

Last updated

HireSalt surfaces candidate data across three dedicated analytics tabs on every job page: Analytics, Recommendations, and Shortlist check. Together they take you from raw score distribution to a shortlist you have checked, without leaving the job screen.

Analytics Tab

The Analytics tab gives you a statistical overview of how all scored candidates performed against the job description.

  • KPI Cards — Total candidates, average score, pass rate (percentage above your screening threshold), and the top score in the pool.
  • Score Distribution Histogram — Bar chart showing how scores cluster across the 0-100 range. A vertical threshold line marks your current screening bar so you can see at a glance how many candidates fall on each side.
  • Radar Chart — Average scores per scoring category, one axis per category. Reveals which dimensions your pool is collectively strong or weak in.
  • Heatmap — Candidate-by-criteria matrix. Green cells indicate strong sub-criteria scores; red cells flag gaps. Sort by any column to find the most impactful weaknesses across the field.
  • Quadrant View — Plots candidates on a two-axis chart using any two criteria you choose, making it easy to identify candidates who excel in the dimensions that matter most to you.
Tip: Use the Hiring Insights page (sidebar) for cross-job analytics spanning all your open positions at once.

Recommendations Tab

The Recommendations tab is your AI-powered triage surface. It opens automatically after scoring completes and is organised into three sections that work together to help you build a shortlist quickly.

Recommendations

HireSalt reads every scored candidate and generates a shortlist of AI-recommended actions — one card per candidate above your threshold. Each card shows the candidate name, score, grade badge, and a plain-English nudge explaining why the AI suggests accepting, watching, or flagging that person. A sensitivity note underneath each card tells you how stable the candidate's ranking is: if small weight changes would move them out of the top tier, the note says so, giving you a signal to dig deeper before deciding.

Use the Accept button on any card to shortlist that candidate immediately. The Accept Batch action at the top of the gallery lets you shortlist all unshortlisted above-threshold candidates in one click.

Pool Character

The Pool Character strip runs across the top of the Recommendations tab and gives you aggregate signal about the candidate pool as a whole. It shows:

  • How many candidates cleared your screening bar versus how many fell below it.
  • A synthesis sentence generated by the AI summarising the pool's overall quality and the strongest shared criterion.
  • The top gap signals — criteria categories where the pool scored weakest relative to your JD requirements. These are your sourcing blind spots.
  • A pool stability verdict. When the ranking is volatile (small weight shifts would reorder the top candidates significantly), a warning banner prompts you to verify in Shortlist check before committing to a shortlist.

Funnel

The Funnel section shows candidate conversion at each stage of the screening pipeline: how many were uploaded, how many were scored, how many cleared your threshold, and how many have been shortlisted so far. Each stage is shown as a count and a percentage of the previous stage, so you can spot where drop-off is occurring and decide whether to adjust your threshold or source additional candidates.

Tip: If the Cleared Threshold count is zero but resumes exist, lower your threshold in the Candidates tab triage controls, or check the gap signals to understand what the pool is missing before sourcing again.

Shortlist Check Tab

The Shortlist check tab is where you decide who goes forward. It replaced the Scoring Health and Threshold check tabs.

  • Your line — Pick how many to interview, or a score. A chart shows who is going forward, who just missed (within 5 points) and who is below.
  • Shortlist these candidates — Shortlists everyone above your line in one step, with Undo and a history of past decisions.
  • Four checks — Failed resumes, scores too close to call, who would cross your line with a small weight change, and a criterion holding someone back. Each names who to look at.
  • Adjust weights — Try different weights and see who moves, with each category's score spread and an industry benchmark for comparison.
Note: Nothing on the Shortlist check tab re-scores anyone. It reorders candidates from their stored scores. See Shortlist Check Tab for the full guide.
