Understanding AI Scores

Last updated

Every scored resume receives a number from 0 to 100. This score represents how well the candidate matches your job criteria, as a weighted average of category scores.

Score Breakdown

  • 80–100 — Strong match. Meets the core requirements.
  • 65–79 — Good match. Some gaps worth a screening call.
  • 50–64 — Partial match. Notable gaps worth reviewing.
  • Below 50 — Weak match. Significant misalignment with requirements.

What Affects the Score

The AI scores 7 categories with 33 sub-criteria. Five categories carry weight by default: Skills Match, Experience, Education, Semantic Fit, and Stability & Trajectory. Practicalities and Engagement Profile are scored and shown for context, with zero weight, so they do not change the total unless you give them weight.

You set the weights in Scoring Setup. They lock when the first candidate for the job is scored, so every candidate is measured on the same basis. To change them later, use Reset criteria on the Scoring Setup tab, which deletes the existing scores and keeps the resumes, or duplicate the job.

Grade Bands

Every candidate card displays a letter grade alongside the numeric score for quick visual scanning:

  • A — 80 and above. Strong fit across the weighted criteria.
  • B — 65 to 79. Solid match with gaps worth reviewing.
  • C — 50 to 64. Partial match; meaningful gaps are present.
  • D — Below 50. Significant misalignment with the job requirements.

Grades are display-only and do not affect ranking or filtering — the underlying numeric score is always used for sorting.

Blind Screening Mode

When blind screening is enabled in your account preferences, the candidate's name and uploaded file name are hidden across all views during scoring and review. The numeric score, grade, and all AI reasoning remain fully visible — only identifying details are obscured. Blind mode is a per-user preference; each team member controls it independently from Settings > Preferences.

Note: The screening threshold (default 50) sets the triage bands. With Auto-triage on, a resume that finishes scoring at or above the threshold is tagged Strong and shortlisted automatically. A score up to 15 points below the threshold is tagged Maybe, and anything lower is tagged Skip. Re-triaging after you change the threshold updates the tags only; it does not shortlist or un-shortlist anyone.
